Rice is eaten by most of the Asian population as the main source of carbohydrates in the daily menu. Rice as a staple food is usually served with side dishes to complement the taste and also complement a person's nutritional needs. Rice can be processed again with other food ingredients into new dishes, such as fried rice, yellow rice or kebuli rice. Rice can be said to be the staple food for people in the Eastern world, especially Southeast Asia.  


Rice is one of the main staple foods in Indonesia. Although to meet the body's needs it still needs to be combined with various other food ingredients, the nutritional content of rice has many benefits for the body. Diabetics are usually more advised to consume brown or red rice which contains more fiber. Fiber slows down the rate at which carbohydrates are converted into glucose in the bloodstream, thereby helping to stabilize blood sugar levels.

Some research suggests that resistant starch can cause the formation of certain fatty acids that help keep the colon healthy.
